Free Consultations
Most initial consultations are free for the following case types: family-based petitions, naturalization, green card applications, and TPS cases. Consultations for deportation defense, asylum, and complex matters may carry a fee, which we disclose before scheduling. The fee is credited toward your case if you retain us.
What to Bring to Your Consultation
The more documents you bring, the more useful the consultation. Helpful items include:
- Passport, visa, I-94, and any USCIS notices or correspondence you have received
- Marriage certificate, birth certificates of children, and divorce decrees if applicable
- Any immigration court documents (Notice to Appear, hearing notices, prior orders)
- Criminal records if you have any prior arrests or convictions
- Employment records, tax returns for the past three years, and proof of physical presence in the U.S.
- If you cannot find a document, come anyway. We can often request copies from USCIS or another source.
Urgent and Detention Cases
If you or a family member has been detained by ICE, call us immediately at +1 (786) 977-8878. Bond hearings move fast. The first 72 hours of a detention case matter more than the next 72 days. Leave a message if it is after hours and we will call back the same evening for urgent detention matters.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
No. Most consultations are by phone or secure video. We see clients in person at our Miami office when they prefer or when in-person review of original documents matters to the case. Once retained, much of the case work can be completed remotely.
For routine case consultations, we typically schedule within two to five business days. For urgent matters such as ICE detentions, removal hearings within the next two weeks, or expiring authorizations, we make time the same day or next business day.
Several non-profit organizations in Miami offer free or low-cost immigration legal services for qualifying clients. These include Americans for Immigrant Justice, Catholic Legal Services, and the Florida Immigrant Coalition partner network. We can refer you if you do not qualify for our representation.
We cannot give specific legal advice on a brief phone call. Immigration cases turn on details that take a full consultation to surface. Brief questions about whether we handle a particular case type or what our consultation fee is can be answered when you call to schedule.
